Thoroughbred Retirement Farms

Each year the MAC Mid-America conference partners with an organization to support as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

2019 CSR Project: Old Friends

In a little more than a decade Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Facility in Georgetown, KY, has put a new face on the concept of equine aftercare. Founded in 2003 by former Boston Globefilm critic Michael Blowen, the organization has grown from a leased paddock and one horse to a 136-acre farm, a herd of over 175 rescued and retired horses, and two satellite facilities: Old Friends at Cabin Creek in Greenfield Center, NY and Old Friends at Kentucky Downs in Franklin, KY.

Ways to donate and help -

A representative from Old Friends will be at the MPI MidAmerica meeting to accept cash donations and speak with attendees. They are always in need of copy paper, toner cartridges, and other office supplies. (Don't worry you don't need to bring a hay bale to the MAC meeting!)
